The small community of Pinedale Acres consists of one street that is accessed off Fayetteville Highway. Next door and within walking distance is 401 Par Golf. The course is the oldest practice facility in Raleigh and offers a driving range, miniature golf course, and an ice cream shack for children of all ages.

Downtown Raleigh is a 12-minute drive from Pinedale Acres. Commuters can catch a bus that runs from Fayetteville Highway to the Raleigh downtown area. There are bike trails nearby, on Western Boulevard and Gorman Street.

Pinedale Acres is only 17 minutes from the University of North Carolina and right on the bus route on South Saunders Street. This provides easy access for students residing in the neighborhood.

Located on Hammond Road is Parkers Pond. Residents can spend the day fishing or enjoying the scenery while relaxing with a picnic lunch. Parkers Pond is an eight-minute drive and is located on the South Wilmington Street bus route.

The North Carolina Museum of Art contains both permanent collections and revolving exhibits. The museum park is 160 acres of woodlands, fields, and creeks. Visitors encounter works of art along the trails and can picnic while discovering the marvels housed in the park. The museum has hosted the Earth Day Festival as well as the Chinese New Year Art in the Evening event.

The neighborhood of Pinedale Acres is a desirable area close to downtown Raleigh shopping and attractions yet still has a rural feel and plenty of scenic views.
