Raleigh, North Carolina, named after Sir Walter Raleigh, is the second largest city in the state. This capital city is home to North Carolina State University, WakeMed hospital, and a thriving downtown area. Throughout Raleigh, there are amazing parks, many connected by the Capital Greenway Trail System, as well as ample shopping, dining, and cultural venues. Subdivisions like Northclift are conveniently located to all the fine features and attractions the city of Raleigh has to offer.

The neighborhood of Northclift is a subdivision in the city’s 27609 zip code. Built in 1969, Northclift features more than 200 homes amid wooded lots and cozy cul-de-sacs. To its east is Six Forks Road, and to its south is West Millbrook Road. Both the Raleigh Beltline (I-440) and the Northern Wake Expressway (I-540) are easily accessible.

Residents in Northclift can easily use CAT, the Raleigh bus system. The Northclift route is within walking distance of the subdivision and can take commuters directly into downtown Raleigh.

Also within walking distance is Shelley Lake Park, a 53-acre lake area. Shelley Lake Park features about 2.5 miles of walking trails and is connected to the Capital Greenway Trail System. Northclift residents can enjoy hiking, jogging, fishing, and other nature activities at the park. The Sertoma Art Center is located at Shelley Lake. It offers programs for all ages, plus exhibitions and other cultural events.

About two miles away at 1905 Spring Forest Road is Millbrook Exchange Park, the area’s main dog park. The Millbrook Dog Park has three separate play areas for dogs of all sizes. Two-legged residents may enjoy the Northridge Country Club or the Wildwood Green Golf Club on Ballybunion Way for their exercise and recreation.

Other points of interest include Raleigh’s downtown area, including the City Market, the Marbles Kids Museum, or the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.
