Lyon Park Apartments for Rent

Lyon Park is a medium-sized neighborhood in Durham, North Carolina. The neighborhood is framed by Morehead Avenue to the north, Rosedale Avenue to the west, Lakewood Avenue to the south, and Carroll Street to the east. Homes in the area represent a number of different time periods, and many of the homes were built prior to 1960.

Just to the east of Lyon Park a little over a mile away is a wide variety of entertainment options. Off of Mangum Street is the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Within the park is a well-maintained baseball field that is home to the Durham Bulls, a triple A baseball club affiliated with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Not far from Durham Bulls Athletic Park is the Durham Performing Arts Center. The main focus of the performing arts center is its Broadway Series, which features many Broadway-style shows throughout the year. The venue is also used for many musical performances and concerts.

Northwest of Lyon Park is the pride of Durham, Duke University. Duke is one of the most well known universities in the country for both its educational and sports programs. The community is very proud of the university, prominently displaying Duke’s colors wherever it can.

Other schools in the area are Wake Forest, University of North Carolina, and North Carolina State University, which are all part of the tri-city area of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. These schools offer undergraduate, graduate, and certification programs, in addition to community enrichment classes that are held throughout the year.
