The neighborhood of Lions Way is located just northeast of the downtown area of Raleigh. Its homes were primarily built in the 1970s and 1980s. Many are two-story residences with large lots and mature trees.

Schools that nearby students attend include Conn Elementary School, Powell Elementary School, Ligon Middle School, Phillips High School, and Enloe High School. St. Augestine’s College is located just south of this North Carolina community. This small, private college enrolls about 1,500 students and employs nearly 100 faculty members. Other colleges nearby include Peace College, Shaw University, and the top-rated North Carolina State University.

Lions Park, one of the largest parks in the Raleigh metropolitan area, includes lighted ball fields, tennis courts, playground equipment, outdoor basketball courts, a BMX track, and picnic facilities. The Lions Park Community Center is also located near the Lions Way neighborhood and offers excellent community programs for all ages. Throughout the school year, the center offers after-school programs for kids ages 5 through 18. It has an indoor gym, meeting rooms, a game room, and a common area.

Public golf courses in the area include the Capital Tee Golf Practice Facility, Raleigh Country Club, and Lockwood Folly Golf Links. These clubs offer excellent amenities and a fun golfing experience for those of all ages and abilities.

The historic North Carolina State Capitol lies just minutes south of Lions Way. There are many museums near Lions Way for the history buff to enjoy. Some of the more popular include the North Carolina Museum of History; the Museum of Natural Sciences; the Raleigh City Museum; and a popular family destination, the Marbles Kids Museum.
