Lakestone is a neighborhood in Raleigh, North Carolina. The neighborhood is located south of Interstate 440 and west of Lassiter Mill Road.

The neighborhood is mostly known for being incredibly close to one of the area’s premier shopping destinations, the Crabtree Valley Mall. South along Blue Ridge Road is the North Carolina Museum of Art. This popular museum is well known throughout the area for having a massive facility with dozens of exhibits featuring art from around the country and the world. The exhibits are constantly changing, making each visit to the museum a unique experience. The museum is also a popular destination for local school classes on field trips. Education programs at the museum make the world of art more accessible to younger children and a little more exciting, as well.

The area is also well known for being the home of North Carolina State University. The large school provides much of the education for the Raleigh area and is located just a few miles south of the Lakestone neighborhood. The school also provides the area with a great deal of pride as area residents come out to show their support for the school’s sports teams at the RBC Center and Carter Finley Stadium.
