Hunters Ridge is in the shape of a tall triangle. The neighborhood consists of Deerview Drive and Woodmark Trail, with cul-de-sacs and access to Penny Road on the south. Homes in this neighborhood are on heavily wooded lots, offering plenty of shade and scenery to walkers and bikers. There are no sidewalks either within Hunter Ridge or along Penny Road, so walkers and cyclists need to take care.
As suggested by its name, the subdivision is built along a ridge, overlooking a valley and the northwest end of Lake Wheeler.
