Holly Acres is a neighborhood located in the town of Raleigh, North Carolina. It is part of Wake County. The community incorporates Holly Lake Trail and the southern border is formed by Tarheel Club Road. The northwestern boundary is formed by Holly Lake. The area is residential and dense with trees.
Beaverdam Lake is south of the neighborhood. It is approximately 500 acres in size and doesn’t allow gasoline-powered boats in the water. It is, however, a popular place for kayaking, canoeing, and sailboats. It offers a boat ramp, dock, and ample parking. A beach and pavilion are also available for swimmers. Another nearby lake is the Neuseoco Lake.
The nearby Marsh Creek Park is 110 acres in size and Rocky Creek runs through it. Perhaps the park’s most popular feature is the innovative skate park. The skate park features a horizontal flow area with curbs and railings, and a large pool-like bowl area. The 24,000-square-foot Marsh Creek Park Community Center features art rooms, classrooms, a computer lab, fitness rooms and an air conditioned gym. There are picnic shelters, a large open space, a lake and trails. There is also a state-of-the-art playground with rubber matting beneath the play equipment.
Wake Chapel Baptist Church is located to the east of Holly Acres and Raleigh Christian Community Church is located to the west.
Schools in the area include the Magellan Charter School, Baileywick Elementary School, the Endeavor Charter School, West Millbrook Middle School, Millbrook High School, and Stevens Prep Academy.
