Hamilton Heights Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Located north of Downtown Raleigh, Hamilton Heights is a subdivision housed in zip code 27614. It’s just west of Six Forks Road, north of I-540, east of Creedmoor Road/Route 50, and south of Norwood Road and Durham Road/Route 98.
Hamilton Heights is a heavily wooded neighborhood with just one street going through it. A few of the lots are also located on Wilmore Drive. Both of these streets are accessible from Mount Vernon Church Road. There are no sidewalks for walking; however, this might be a nice area for adult cyclists.
This subdivision, though, is surrounded by parks and recreational areas. Just a few minutes’ drive north on Six Forks Road is Blue Jay Point County Park, which offers fishing, picnicking, hiking, playgrounds, educational gardens, and environmental education. Falls Lake State Recreation Area, also north of Hamilton Heights, includes fishing, boating, swimming, camping, and trails for hiking and mountain biking. Both parks are located on Falls Lake, a large sprawling body of water created when the Neuse River was dammed for flood control.
South of Hamilton Heights is the semi-private Wildwood Green Golf Club. Close by is the Baileywick Road Park, which features ball fields, picnic areas, a playground, a walking path, and Lake Lynn Community Center.
For shopping, dining, and entertainment, there are several areas south of Hamilton Heights. Near Wildwood Green and Baileywick is the Brennan Station shopping center on Creedmoor Road. Merchants include Kroger grocery, Office Depot, Wendy’s, and Dunkin Donuts. Another shopping center is Six Forks Station shopping center with a Home Depot, Six Forks Cinema, and Millions Pizza and Pasta.
Nearby schools are Pleasant Union Elementary, Magellan Charter, and Leesville Road High. Just a short drive away are North Carolina State University on the west side of Downtown Raleigh and Duke University in Durham.
