This is a newer, residential neighborhood of large, single-family detached homes. The yards have mature trees, the area is hilly, and the neighborhood has sidewalks. Hadleigh is located northeast of downtown Raleigh, outside the beltway.

Just a short drive south of this North Carolina neighborhood is Durant Nature Park. It consists of 237 acres of woods, with two small lakes. There are also five miles of hiking trails. Mountain biking is allowed on 1.5 miles of the trials. A playground and basketball and volleyball courts are located near the restrooms and picnic areas. Fishing is allowed from the boathouse dock and along the shore. There are canoe days throughout the year and other planned events in the park. Wildlife sightings are part of the appeal of this nature park.

Golfers will be happy to know that Wildwood Country Club is located within an easy drive of the Hadleigh neighborhood. Created in 1986, this is one of the newer clubs in the area. It is a private club but is strictly about golf. Wildwood offers 18 holes of golf. With four tees on every hole, the course can be as challenging or as easy as the golfer prefers.

When it comes to shopping, Hadleigh residents have only a short drive to the Falls Pointe Shopping Center. It is anchored by a Harris Teeter grocery and a Kohl’s. Radio Shack, Starbucks, GNC, and Blockbuster are some of the chain stores in the shopping center, which also offers local retailers, restaurants, and services.
