Yates Mill Pond and Yates Mill Country Park are at the intersection of these three roads.

Enchanted Oaks Recreation is just outside the neighborhood on Birchleaf Drive. Golf enthusiasts can find 401 Par Golf on Fayetteville Road to the east. The Simpkins Raceway is on Simpkins Road, which runs between Lake Wheeler Road and Fayetteville Road.

The capital city of Raleigh is north of the Enchanted Oaks West neighborhood providing shopping, dining and entertainment. The Raleigh-Durham International Airport is northwest, just below Interstate 540. Interstate 40 and the 440 intersect to the northwest of the community. Lake Johnson Nature Park is located off the I40 at this intersection.
