Bayleaf Forest Apartments for Rent

(hide neighborhood information)

Bayleaf Forest is located in northern Raleigh, and is surrounded by Bayleaf Drive. The entire community is located just minutes away from Six Forks Road, and less than two miles away is one of the area’s most popular dining and shopping destinations, Zest Café and Home Art store. Situated inside a strip of smaller shops, the establishment has become well-known with locals for its unique menu, which ranges from salads substantial enough to serve as a main course to creative vegetarian fare to desserts that dazzle the eye, along with the sweet tooth.

Residents who enjoy the great outdoors have a number of recreational options at their fingertips, including two family-friendly parks that are located less than five miles away from the Bayleaf Forest homes. Durant Nature Park is located on more than 200 wooded acres. Once the site of a camp maintained by the Boy Scouts of America, the area now provides more than five miles of walking or hiking trails and bird watching opportunities, as well as nearly two miles of mountain biking trails. The site also contains a pair of small lakes and a number of naturally growing gardens for studying wildflowers and native ferns.

For those wishing for more activities that the whole family can participate in, a visit to Shelly Lake Sertoma Park might do the trick. Walkers and joggers will enjoy the 2.5 mile track around the lake, which is also open to pet owners provided their animals are leashed. From mid-spring through early autumn, visitors can rent canoes and paddle boats to spend a day on the water at relatively nominal fees, or bring a picnic and enjoy the park’s open public green space. Fishing is also available at the park, along with an on-site arts center which offers a range of classes for children and adults year round.
