Residents of the Banbury Woods area are close to schools, commercial businesses, and local shopping. Within minutes of the neighborhood are the shops at the Wakefield Commons, the Wakefield Crossing, and the Falls Pointe Shopping Center. The Oakwood Stables are less than a half-mile away on Brassfield Road. The stables feature riding lessons for all ages.
The campus of North Carolina State University is about thirty-minutes south of Banbury Woods but the smaller Living Arts College-School of Communications Arts is just to the east of the neighborhood. The specialty college offers Bachelor programs in digital art education.
The neighborhood of Banbury Woods does not have a city park within its borders but it is only five miles from the large Durant Nature Park. Another popular area park is northern Wake County’s Blue Jay Point. Not far from Banbury Woods, the county park spans more than 200 acres, a peninsula bordered by Falls Lake. The park is a retreat where visitors can enjoy fishing by the bank of the lake or kite flying in the park’s open field. There are two playgrounds and five miles of trails, which connect with the North Carolina Falls Lake Trail.
Although thirty-minutes from the attractions of downtown Raleigh, Banbury Woods is located close to the Northern Wake Expressway (Interstate 540) with easy connections to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
