Raleigh is also home to the neighborhood of Baileycroft, an upscale community located on the city’s north side.

Baileycroft lies within Wake County’s 27615 zip code area. The neighborhood can be found east of Six Forks Road and west of Falls of Neuse Road. It’s northern boundary is the Northern Wake Expressway (I-540), and its southern boundary is Newton Road.

Streets in the Bailey croft neighborhood include Baileycroft Drive, Old Deer Trail, and Old Well Lane. The single-family homes sit on large lots with plenty of shade and trees. Most homes were built within the past 20 years.

Although about fifteen miles north of downtown Raleigh, the Baileycroft neighborhood has access to public transportation via the Capitol Area Transit’s (CAT) Sawmill connector route.

Shelley Lake and the Sertoma Arts Center sit about five miles south of Baileycroft. Shelley Lake Park boasts a 53-acre lake and two miles of paved greenway trails. The Shelley Lake trails are part of the 63-mile Capitol Area Greenway Trail System. The Sertoma Arts Center is located at Shelley Lake Park, offering several arts programs to Raleigh citizens that include exhibitions, education, and outreach programs for area artists.

Five miles to the south of Baileycroft is Raleigh’s Union Square. Union Square features fourteen monuments, including the North Carolina Veteran’s Monument and the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial.

Six Forks Station at Strickland Road is a convenient place for Baileycroft residents to shop. The plaza sits less than two miles from the neighborhood. Just six miles south of Baileycroft is the Crabtree Valley Mall, with more than 200 stores, restaurants, and specialty shops.
