The South End Neighborhood

The South End is a neighborhood located south of the downtown area of Charlotte. For being just outside the city, it is a nicely wooded neighborhood. there is a pleasant park in the center of the neighborhood. Latta Park offers South End residents a place to play sports such as basketball and volleyball as well as a place where they can relax. The park is perfect for those who want to have a picnic or take a nature walk. Freedom Park, another park close to the neighborhood, has many more amenities than Latta Park does. It is home to more sport fields and courts and also has more places in which to picnic.

The South End community is very close to downtown Charlotte, which is a great place to shop. The downtown area has numerous shops and restaurants scattered throughout it as well as several shopping centers. Founders Hall is host to many different shops and dining locations ranging from casual to fine cuisine. Founders Hall also features live music for shoppers to enjoy on Fridays. Another big shopping center is the EpiCentre, which combines entertainment, shopping, and dining to create one great experience for South End residents.

There are also many attractions in the downtown Charlotte area. Charlotte is home to both the Panthers and the Bobcats. Living in the South End neighborhood makes it really easy to see a professional football or basketball game. Downtown Charlotte also has many different historic and cultural attractions. Visitors can choose among numerous tours that range from historic to ghost in theme. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is also located nearby and offers fans a chance to see exhibits of their favorite drivers and learn the history of the sport.
