Monroe County, New York

In northwestern New York State along Lake Ontario just south of the Canadian border, Monroe County’s villages, towns, and cities fan out from the lake and its county seat of Rochester. The Lilac Festival, held annually in May in Highland Park, spans 10 days and features over 500 varieties of lilacs. The festival includes live entertainment, a parade, vendors, and activities. Other festivals include the Corn Hill Arts Festival and the Rochester International Jazz Festival.

In addition to Rochester, Monroe County includes nearly 30 towns and villages, including Ogden, Henrietta, East Rochester, Brighton, and Scottsville.
