Crossroads is a neighborhood that is located in the downtown area between the Business Center and Crown Center. Its boundaries are 1-670 on the north, Broadway Street and Broadway Boulevard on the west, Oak Street on the east, and East 20th Street and West 23rd Street on the south.
Main Street runs through the center of the neighborhood from north to south, and it is located in the 64108 zip code area. It has become the main art district in Kansas City with over 70 art galleries in the renovated warehouses around the neighborhood. There are a wide variety of restaurants in Crossroads, too.
The majority of the homes in this area are apartments, and some of them are pet friendly.
The residents of Crossroads never lack for cultural activities. The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is located within the neighborhood. During the year, programming includes the local Lyric Opera, the Kansas City Symphony, and the Kansas City Ballet. There is a wide variety of out of town performers who perform throughout the year as well.
The Crossroads neighborhood is conveniently located to a number of important places. To the south are the Union Station Science City, the Kansas City Amtrak Station, the Washington Square Park, and the Hyatt Regency Center. The Kansas City Convention Center is on the north side of I-670 above Crossroads, and the Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport is a short distance away across the Missouri River. Close by on the southeast side are three important medical centers.
Mulkey Square Park sits on the North side of I-670 and beside I-35. Its baseball diamond is at one of the highest spots in Kansas City and overlooks the city. There are several other small parks around the Crossroads neighborhood.
