Just across the Kansas River, about five miles away, is Gage Park, home of the zoo and a new children’s museum. Gage Park also has a dog park, an antique carousel, and a small theater. The Reinisch Rose Garden is a favorite photography spot.

The Governor’s Mansion is also close to North Topeka 2. The walking trails on the grounds are always busy. A small fishing pond is another popular spot on the governor’s front lawn. Near the mansion is the state historical museum. A new theater complex is also nearby.
