The Westside neighborhood of Augusta, Georgia is a primarily residential area in the northwest section of the city. The community is served by several major roadways including Carl Sanders Highway (I-20), Riverwatch Parkway, and Washington Road. Washington Road is a major retail and commercial center with a wide variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. One of the more popular Augusta night spots, The County Club, which features top country music acts, is located on Washington Road in the Washington Square Shopping Center.

The Augusta Canal National Heritage Area has something for just about everyone. Brookfield Park on Mayo Road offers picnic tables, group shelters, playgrounds, a walking trail and a splash pad. Other area parks are the Warren Road Center and Eisenhower Park. Running tracks, football, soccer, and baseball fields, and basketball courts are available at these facilities for recreational and organized play.

Minor league baseball is well represented by Augusta’s GreenJacket ball club. The South Atlantic team is a farm team for the San Francisco Giants and routinely fields some of the best ballplayers in the league. RiverHawks hockey, Troy University football, and nationally ranked NCAA Augusta State University basketball combine to offer year-round spectator fun to sports fans of all ages.
