(hide neighborhood information)

A neighborhood with colorful, garden-inspired street names like Gardenia, Hibiscus, and Fern, the downtown West Palm Beach area is near many major points of interest in the city, including the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Palm Beach County Convention Center, and Clematis Street.

Downtown West Palm Beach is dominated by pricey, high-rise condominiums that soar to the $2 million range. Many of them feature spectacular water views and are loaded with amenities such as swimming pools and private elevators. Some of the more high-profile condominium developments include Trump Plaza, Esplanade Grande, Two City Plaza, and City Place.

A condensed area, downtown West Palm Beach is very walkable with generous sidewalks and easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Located in the 33401 zip code area, downtown West Palm Beach is bordered on the north by Evernia Street, on the south by Okeechobee Boulevard, on the west by Sapodila Avenue, and on the east by South Flagler Drive.

Residents in downtown have easy access to Interstate 95 (the main north/south arterial in the area) via Okeechobee Boulevard. Palm Beach can also be reached easily via Okeechobee Boulevard and Royal Palm Way.

A main gathering spot for those living in downtown condos and homes is Clematis Street, located a couple of blocks north of the designated downtown quadrant. The revitalized area is brimming with restaurants, live music clubs, boutiques, antique shops and historical landmarks. One of the most popular shopping areas is City Place, a 600,000 square-foot complex with ten restaurants, an open-air plaza, and a cultural arts theater.

A few blocks southeast of downtown is Palm Beach Atlantic University, an interdenominational Christian university founded in 1968, with 3,659 students and 52 undergraduate major programs.

Students in the downtown area attend Palm Beach Lakes Community High School and Cardinal Newman High School.
