Oak Grove is a residential community in Egypt Lake-Leto, which is part of the Tampa Bay region. The neighborhood has several major roadways surrounding it including Sligh Avenue to the north, Habana Avenue to the west, Hillsborough Avenue to the south, and Armenia Avenue to the east.
Oak Grove is a heavily wooded neighborhood providing excellent scenic views throughout the neighborhood. The quiet neighborhood roads are very low-traffic. It is common to see walkers, runners, and cyclists throughout the neighborhood enjoying exercise in the shade of the numerous trees.
Less than a mile to the east off Diane Street is the Police Athletic League. The athletic league is a large recreation park that is home to many youth leagues as well as police leagues. The recreation area has several multiple purpose fields for soccer and football. There are also five fields of various sizes for baseball and softball.
Lowry Park Zoo, one of the most popular area destinations, is only about a mile away from the Oak Grove neighborhood off of Sligh Avenue. The zoo is not only popular in the Tampa region, but is well known throughout the world for their many successful animal programs. The zoo is also known for the numerous events that bring in visitors from throughout the area. Events such as Zoo Boo, their popular Halloween celebration for young children, Zoofari which is a popular event featuring many area restaurants, and the Wine Festival all bring many visitors to the area.
Other popular area attractions include the Tampa Greyhound Track, which is located five miles away off of Nebraska Avenue; The Tampa International Airport, which is nine miles to the southeast; and Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team, which is three miles away off of Dale Mabry Highway.
