Courier City/Oscawana is located between downtown Tampa and the beautiful bay area. The neighborhood is known for its excellent high school and proximity to all amenities.
High school students from Courier City attend Plant High School, rated an “A” by the Florida Department of Education and one of the most recognized high schools in the country. Newsweek consistently includes the school in its list of Top 100 High Schools in the Country. The school was named a Blue Ribbon School in 1990 and 1997.
Middle school students prepare for high school at Woodrow Wilson Middle School. Elementary school students from Courier City attend one of the oldest schools in the area, Mitchell Elementary School. The school was built in 1915, and much of that building is still being used by students.
Just a couple of miles from the neighborhood is the University of Tampa. The focal point is Plant Hall, which is a local landmark noted for its domed structure. The Princeton Review has named the university as one of the best business schools in the country.
Life is not all about school and work and there is plenty to do just a few miles away from Courier City. The historic Tampa Theater is less than two miles northeast of the neighborhood. Residents can watch a movie or attend one of the many concerts and special events held there. For the kids, the Glazer Children’s Museum is just two miles away. The museum has exhibits that allow children to play with boats in the water and host their own news show.
Courier City/Oscawana is a popular neighborhood for those who want an easy commute to downtown Tampa. The drive is less than 10 minutes down West Kennedy Boulevard.
