It also offers plentiful opportunities to observe wildlife, from bobcats to river otters. Among the attractions are a nature trail, a picnic pavilion, a small boat ramp, and a playground.

Although the tree-lined streets provide the opportunity for residents to escape from city life in Jacksonville, Pumpkin Hill is still near many stores and shopping centers. Regency Square Mall, an indoor shopping arena, is an easy drive to the south. It has almost 200 shops, and it offers mall gift cards, a club, an electronic scooter rental, a nursing lounge, and safety escorts. River City Marketplace and the Atlantic Village Shopping Center are also nearby.
