Situated along the Broward River in a wooded area, the neighborhood of Eastport is located just 18 minutes northeast of downtown Jacksonville in Duval County. The community is bordered by the curving Eastport Road to the north and east, by North Main Street to the west, and by the banks of the Broward River to the south. Eastport is just a 10-minute drive from the Jacksonville Airport and Interstate 95.

Eastport children can easily walk to class at San Mateo Elementary School and ride the bus to nearby Eastport Preschool & Kindergarten, Highlands Middle School, and First Coast Senior High School. It is 20 minutes to Jacksonville University and seven miles to both Florida Community College and the Florida State College School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality.

Residents enjoy strolling along the tree-lined streets of the walkable Eastport neighborhood and playing basketball, tennis, and baseball at the San Mateo Elementary campus. A round of golf at Jacksonville’s Municipal Golf Course, located across the river, is another popular pastime in this sporting community. Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park, a local wildlife preserve, is a favorite spot for hiking and picnicking.

For shopping, locals flock to the River City Marketplace, an outdoor regional mall with a movie theater and many chain stores and restaurants. Other attractions include Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, where visitors can view 1,800 exotic animals and more than 1,000 plant varieties, and the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, home to big name concerts and exhibitions.

Residents move to Eastport for its laid back, woodsy setting and proximity to the big city.
