Much of the community itself is devoted to undeveloped natural land, but a large residential area can be found in the northern portion of the neighborhood. It consists mostly of single-family homes on spacious lots. Eagle Bend Boulevard is the neighborhood’s major thoroughfare, traversing the preserve to the south and connecting to Yellow Bluff Road. Four Creeks State Forest borders the preserve on the west, and Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park can be found to the southeast.

Although its hard to believe that anyone would want to leave this natural wonderland, when residents of Eagle Bend need to travel, the Jacksonville International Airport is within 10 minutes to the southwest.

One the way to downtown Jacksonville, one will discover a variety of additional attractions within a short drive of Eagle Bend, including the Jacksonville Zoo. The downtown area itself is home to several major medical centers and higher education options, the Jacksonville Public Library, and the Tines Union Center for the Performing Arts. The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, a popular sports and entertainment venue, can also be found here. Sports fans come to the downtown area to catch a Jacksonville Suns Minor League Baseball game or cheer on the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team.
