Woodland Acres Neighborhood

Jacksonville, situated at the upper northeast corner of Florida is home to more than 800,000 people. Jacksonville, known as Florida’s “First Coast,” enjoys mild temperatures with the annual range from about 67 degrees to about 76 degrees. In addition to beautiful coastal beaches, a busy downtown, cultural and historical sites, and the Naval Station Mayport, Jacksonville has several thriving residential areas.

Woodland Acres is a residential neighborhood nestled between the Arlington Expressway, Southside Boulevard, Atlantic Boulevard and the Pottsburg Creek. This community features both residential homes as well as several apartment complexes, including Willow Lakes, Cimarron, City Ridge, and Oakwood Villa.

An ideal location, Woodland Acres is less than fifteen miles from the stretch of coastal beach that includes Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Jacksonville Beach. Jacksonville Beach is home to the American Lighthouse Museum and the Seawalk Pavilion, which hosts concerts in its 2,000-seat, open-air auditorium.

Downtown Jacksonville is accessible easily via the JTA, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority. The AR7 line runs along Atlantic Boulevard, offering a route to downtown shopping and dining as well as to the Craig Municipal Airport. The Jacksonville International Airport is less than 20 miles away via Florida 9A and I-95.

Near Woodland Acres are several city parks, including Tree Hill, Arlington Memorial, Parkwood Heights, Grove, and the Arlingwood Playground. The Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens is merely five miles away.

About twenty-five minutes from Woodland Acres on State Road A1A North is Big Talbot Island State Park. It’s a haven for fishing, boating, canoeing, picnicking, and hiking along its nature trails. This nature preserve even has a deep-water ramp for boating and easy access to the Atlantic Ocean.

Medical facilities nearby include the Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville, and the 289-bed St. Luke’s Hospital. Jacksonville University, a private college of about 2,100 students, is less than five miles from Woodland Acres.
