The median price of a single-family home in Baymeadows is just under $205,000 and the median age of residents is 32.

One of the appealing aspects of living and working in the area is the easy access to downtown via I-95, which cuts right through the area. Southside Boulevard, which parallels I-95, connects to downtown Jacksonville as well. Baymeadows is situated west of Southside Boulevard, south of J. Turner Butler Boulevard and east of the community of Mandarin.

Once the work day is over at Baymeadows office buildings, especially on Friday nights, many people in the neighborhood congregate at casual area chain eateries like Dave & Buster’s and Chili’s Grill & Bar.

For shopping, most area residents gravitate to the nearest mall, Avenues Mall, a multi-level shopping complex with more than 1.1 million square feet of shopping highlighted by department stores like Dillard’s, JC Penney, and Sears and specialty stores such as Aeropostale, Ann Taylor, The Gap, and Williams-Sonoma. A bit further to drive from Baymeadows is St. Johns Town Center, which has anchor stores like Dick’s Sporting Goods and Target and restaurants such as The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s and Ted’s Montana Grill.

On the weekends, many of the area’s top executives, physicians, and lawyers can be found teeing it up at the two golf courses in the Baymeadows area, Deerwood, which fronts Southside Boulevard and Baymeadows Road and Deercreek, on Southside Road, just north of the Avenues Mall. Both of the courses are private. For daily-fee play, the nearest course is Julington Creek, about five miles from the Avenues Mall.

For other recreation, the Burnett Community Center on Burnett Park Road is Baymeadows’ hub for athletics with lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, and softball and baseball fields.
