Satellite Beach, a coastal city in central Florida, boasts several residential neighborhoods minutes from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. One block from Highway A1A in the 32937 zip code is the neighborhood of Eau Gallie Shores. Its western border is St. Patrick Drive. Eau Gallie Shores’ northern edge is Jackson Avenue and its southern border is Roosevelt Avenue.
Eau Gallie Shores has palm-tree-lined streets with residential walkways, and is in a central location to public and private schools, including the Brevard Montessori School. Public transportation is located along Highway A1A via the buses of Space Coast Area Transit.
Residents in the neighborhood are within walking distance of the post office, churches, the beach, and shopping. The Atlantic Plaza, just north of Eau Gallie Shores, has a movie theatre, a grocery store, service businesses, and restaurants.
Less than two miles south of Eau Gallie Shores is the Pelican Beach Park. A beachside park with lifeguards, there are also volleyball courts, picnic shelters, and a playground that is American Disability Accessible. The Hightower Beach Park is about the same distance to the north of Eau Gallie Shores. It offers a boardwalk with an observation deck for spectacular ocean views.
Satellite Beach’s public dog park is two miles south of the neighborhood, located just north of the Satellite Beach Public Library. The park offers enclosed play areas for both large and small dogs, as well as benches and rest areas. Adjacent to the park is the city’s skate park. The Satellite Beach Public Library offers area residents a large volume collection, plus public computers and free wireless Internet access. The library also offers book clubs and story hours for children.
