Wooster Square/Mill River is a neighborhood in New Haven, Connecticut in the 06511 zip code. The boundaries of the neighborhood are Oak Street Connector and Connecticut Turnpike to the south, the Mill River on the east, Interstate 91 and State Street on the north, and Olive Street on the west.

This is a historic neighborhood with several homes of historic significance. It is a mixed use neighborhood with residential, commercial, retail, and light industrial areas. There are single-family detached homes, multi-family homes, apartments, and condos. Public transportation is available, as are sidewalks.

Wooster Square is home to New Haven’s Little Italy. This area includes Frank Pepe’s and Sally’s Apizza, which have been battling for the title of best pizza in New Haven for generations. Located right down the street from each other,  both places have their loyal followers. The neighborhood is a favorite of Yale students who can walk here to dine.

Conte/West Hill Magnet School offers classes for students in grades K-8. It is a favorite with parents and students, and it received a Great Schools community rating of four out of five.

The Episcopal Church of Saint Paul and Saint James offers a variety of different music during its services, including jazz. This church participates in active outreach in the community.

When residents need to grocery shop, there are several local markets nearby. East Haven has a Stop and Shop, which is an easy drive on Interstate 95.
