Sycamore is an area in Issaquah, Washington, in King County near Seattle. The neighborhood is located around the south part of the city, along Front Street South and Issaquah Hobart Road S.E. Comprised primarily of single-family homes, the residential neighborhood has been built up since the 1990s. The area also comprises steep slopes and wetlands. Most of the homes in the area use septic systems. The west side of Issaquah Hobart Road contains an 11-acre parcel to the north that has been designated as a recreational area. Single-family homes are zoned on one-acre lots for the south portion of this area. Parkside Partnership owns 12 acres in the south. Much of the area is in the Issaquah Creek floodplain.
Students in the neighborhood attend Issaquah schools. Shoppers enjoy the downtown area’s numerous retail shops and restaurants and Gilman Village, a collection of historic homes that has been converted into a shopping area of 40 stores.
Issaquah lies in the foothills of the Issaquah Alps, part of the Cascade Mountains. Homes on higher plateaus provide views over the Cascades to the west and Lake Sammamish to the west and south. Lake Sammamish State Park is a popular destination in the summer with public beaches, a boat launch, and picnic areas. Residents utilize the park year round for playing soccer, biking, and walking.
Issaquah is conveniently located on Interstate 90 with easy access to Seattle to the east across the floating I 90 Bridge. The suburb of Bellevue, Washington, where one may find employment opportunities, is north on Interstate 405.
