Lake City Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Seattle’s Lake City neighborhood is five neighborhoods rolled into one. Within the district are Cedar Park, Matthews Beach, Meadowbrook, Olympic Hills, and Victory Heights, all in the 98125 zip code area.
Each one of these neighborhoods is completely different than the other. Homes range from pricey million-dollar units to moderately priced houses and apartments. Despite the wide price range, these homes all share great views of Lake Washington, Mount Rainer, and downtown Seattle.
Meadowbrook Park, once a water treatment plant, has been converted to a series of pathways that invite residents to take a walk and enjoy the area’s abundant plants and wildlife. These peaceful trails also offer decks and bridges to stop and relax. Pinehurst Playground has a half basketball court, a playground, a ball field, and a soccer field. North Acres Park offers an off-lease dog area, picnic areas, a playground, a wading pool, woods to roam, sports fields, and hiking trails.
Lake City Way runs down the center of this neighborhood. This business corridor has everything that the residents could need or want. Popular nightspots include the Back Door and the Red Rock, and across the street lies a Dick’s Drive-In, a popular local food chain. The Northgate Mall, the United State’s first indoor mall, lies just off Lake City Way. The mall offers more than 100 specialty shops, a food court, and anchor stores.
Many schools are located in the area, so children do not have to travel far for an education.
Matthews Beach Park provides Lake City residents with a chance to take advantage of Seattle’s warm summers. Life guards are on duty for the swimmers, and a creek runs through the hiking trails. There is also a playground for the children.
