Woodlawn Lake Neighborhood

The lovely, park and lake-side community of Woodlawn Lake is in Northern San Antonio, Texas. Woodlawn Lake is an established community home to mature trees and a warm, friendly atmosphere. It is a place where residents take pleasure in tending their homes and lawns.

Located in Bexar County, this neighborhood is a part of zip code 78201. It lies to the west of Interstate 10, to the north of Texas 421 Spur, and to the south of West Woodlawn Avenue. Monticello Park, Beacon Hill, and Gardendale are some nearby communities. Woodlawn Lake’s close proximity to Interstate 10 allows for an easy commute in and around San Antonio for Woodlawn Lake residents.

The 62-acre Woodlawn Park surrounds Woodlawn Lake. The park was founded in 1918 and has been touted as the dream site of suburban San Antonio homes. It features a swimming pool, gymnasium, lake for fishing and canoeing, covered pavilions, a children’s playground, a basketball court, tennis courts, athletic fields, restrooms, and a scenic walking trail.

There are several places of worship of various faiths in this neighborhood, including the Basilica of the Little Flower, Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Therese Church, La Trinidad Assembly of God, and Congregacion Vida Nueva.

The children of Woodlawn Lake may attend public school in the San Antonio Independent School District. Nelson Elementary School, Fenwick Elementary School, Jefferson High School are found either within walking distance or a short bus drive away. There are also several private and charter schools nearby, such as Holy Cross High School, Kipp Aspire Academy, and Higgs Carter King Gifted and Talented Charter Academy.
