Park Village offers isolated dwellings in a rural setting. With recreational vehicles in yards with short modular houses and ranch-style homes, residents enjoy living in a casual San Antonio environment. Landscapes here are very informal. Low-ride, wrought iron fences are just as popular as chain link dog fences. Park Village exists just outside the San Antonio city limits.
The west side of the Park Village community is filled with parks. James Park, Wilshire Terrace Park, Salado Creek Greenway, and Sunset Memorial Park are all located within walking distance.
James Park provides playground equipment, restrooms, athletic fields, and a half a mile of hard and soft trails. Area families frequent this local park.
Salado Creek Greenway is maintained by the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department. The greenway is open from dawn to dusk. Natural, concrete, and asphalt paths are available for walking, jogging, bird-watching, and biking. One of the trail’s finest features is its strategically placed restrooms.
Sunset Memorial Park is a stunning, garden-like mega-facility for funeral services. Acres of rolling green lawns and towering memorial structures give haven to previous generations of San Antonio residents. The memorial park has been in operation since 1928, and is considered a local landmark.
The Park Village neighborhood is adjacent to Interstates 35 and 410. Commuters in the area find travel easy and convenient. Public transportation bus stops are also handy and plentiful.
