McAllister Park, one of the most popular parks in the city, is situated about five miles to the west. Encompassing almost 1,000 acres, this large park hosts a long list of facilities, including numerous playing fields, 15 miles of hiking/biking trails, tennis courts, picnic facilities, a stream for fishing, basketball court, playground, dog park, and more.

The San Antonio International Airport is also located about five miles west of Monterrey Village, a major attraction for frequent travelers.
