The borders of the neighborhood are the Southeast I-410 Loop on the east, East Southcross Boulevard on the south, Roland Avenue on the west, and Sinclair Road on the north. This is a very mixed neighborhood. On the main road there are lots of commercial enterprises, and also expansive open spaces. There are several small subdivisions in this neighborhood, but it is also very rural. Public transportation is available. There are small trees everywhere in the neighborhood.

Southeast Baptist Church is located in Lower Southeast Side. It has a variety of ministries for people of all ages from pre-school to senior adult.

South Side Lions Park is a huge park maintained by the San Antonio Parks and Recreation. It has over 600 acres with lots of facilities located just slightly west of the neighborhood. There is an outdoor seasonal swimming pool, a 10-acre lake with fishing, basketball and tennis courts, picnic tables, two play grounds, and a community center with a gym. In addition, there are two softball fields. The Salada Creek Greenway has a trail head in the park. This 10-foot wide, multi-use trail runs not only through South Side Lions Park, but also into Covington County Park and Comanche Park. It offers scenic views of Salada Creek, as well as being a great place to hike and bike.

Southeast Baptist Hospital is located just a short drive from the neighborhood. It is the only hospital in this area of San Antonio. It offers emergency and urgent care treatment among its many services.

When it comes to grocery shopping, there are local stores close by, and the HEB on Southeast Military Road is a short drive to the south.
