Located between Sam Houston Tollway and Interstate 610 is the community of Central Southwest. This neighborhood is roughly centered around Townwood Park.

This neighborhood is located near several airports, ranging from small to large. These include Hobby Airport.
Many of the people in the community feel strongly about cemeteries, and there are several in the area. While these can be distasteful points of interest to some people, to others they are important reminders. Beth Jacob Cemetery is an example of these landmarks.
Numerous small natural and man-made lakes dot the area, and a river runs through it on its way to the gulf. This provides fishing, boating, and other water-related activities for the entire neighborhood. As close as it is to the center of Houston, Central Southeast also provides opportunities for people to view wild birds and other wild animals.
