Crestview-Wooten Neighborhood in Austin, TX

Crestview-Wooten Neighborhood

Mostly residential with an eclectic variety of architecture, the Crestview-Wooten area is located in north central Austin with access to the Capital Metro Rail and a number of bus routes, making it great for a semi-urban dweller. Tucked into the quiet residential streets lie a handful of affordable apartment complexes that house students, young professionals, and families.

The Crestview-Wooten neighborhood is bisected by Anderson Lane. Burnet Road acts as the western boundary with North Lamar Boulevard to the east. West Koenig Lane and the Highland neighborhood make up the southern boundary and Texas State Highway 183 borders the area to the north. Wooten is a triangular neighborhood sitting on top of the rectangular Crestview neighborhood.

Wide roads with smooth sidewalks and shade trees make Crestview-Wooten great for cyclists and runners. The North Austin Optimist Baseball Field, in the southeastern part of Crestview-Wooten, offers plenty of open space for Frisbee, soccer, or football.

Located within the Austin Independent School District, Crestview-Wooten is home to Burnet Middle School and Wooten Elementary School. Several Montessori and religious schools reside in the area, mostly attached to neighborhood churches. The Texas Institute of Healing Arts is also located in the western part of Crestview.

Commercial establishments are clustered along the major roads including local and chain stores that offer coffee, groceries, dining, and retail needs. Crestview-Wooten is home to several shopping centers including Anderson Square, which has a branch of Planet Fitness, Hobby Lobby, and a hardware store. This shopping center also has Big Star Bingo, a large structure that hosts bingo nights with cash prizes for players. North Village Shopping Center is situated on Burnet Road and serves as a mecca for antique and furniture hunters.
