On the west side is Cleveland Park, a large park with a popular dog park and the Greenville Zoo on its north end. The zoo is small, sitting on 14 acres, but houses hundreds of animals. Guests can plan on about two hours to tour it. The park also features facilities for tennis, volleyball, and softball. Cleveland Park is home to the Fernwood Nature Trail and the Rock Quarry Garden.

Just north of Buncombe Street in the heart of Central Greenville are the Upcountry History Museum, the Greenville County Library, and the Greenville County Museum of Art. The Upcountry History Museum features exhibits regarding the history, art, and culture of the South Carolina’s upcountry region. Originating in the 1930s, the Greenville County Museum of Art continues to display some of the region’s best collections of American art.
