Wegener Terrace is a neighborhood in Charleston, South Carolina. Located on a peninsula that extends into the Charleston Harbor, Wegener Terrace starts at Brigade Street to the south, and runs north along Meeting Street to just north of Greenleaf Road. The neighborhood extends on either side and homes built east or west of Meeting Street usually become a part of Wegener Terrace.

Wegener Terrace has a lot of the “Old Charleston” charm, with much of the neighborhood built before World War II and some in the 1920s and 30s. For those looking for a large home with a prominent porch and many features that take advantage of the warm weather, Wegener Terrace has what they are looking for. The northern part of the neighborhood is mostly commercial, but in the southern part, there are showplace homes and more modest versions. Home prices reflect how much this area is valued by the people who live there, with the average price being above the median, but homes are mostly still affordable to many, although the grand southern homes go for considerably more.

The weather, wide streets, and nice sidewalks make this area a great place to walk, exercise and ride a bike. The major streets are Interstate 26 and Meeting Street, so the residential streets remain quiet, with the traffic coming from the neighborhood.

Charleston is a destination for many a golfer and the residents of Wegener Terrace can take their pick of where to get in 18 holes on a Saturday. The City of Charleston Golf Course, at 2110 Maybank Road, is a municipal course open to the public that is well respected and challenging. Shadowmoss Plantation Golf Club, at 20 Dunvegan Drive, has resort-style golf with a country club environment.
