There is a community park and swimming pool within neighborhood bounds, developed to provide easy access to recreational activities for the children of the community. The pool is the home of the community’s Killer Whales swim team. Largely undeveloped parkland known as the Charles Towne Landing can be found just a short distance to the southeast of the Northbridge Terrace neighborhood.
Local shopping and dining is very convenient for Northbridge Terrace residents. Both the Ashley Landing and Orange Grove Plaza shopping centers are situated just on the other side of Old Towne Road, easily within walking distance of the neighborhood. The former is in need of some revitalization, but redesign plans are in the works. Old Towne Road also offers a supermarket and a variety of dining options, including a Japanese steakhouse. Just a short drive southwest along Highway 7 are a half-dozen or so additional shopping centers, including Village Square Shopping Center, Ashley Crossing, Westwood Plaza Shopping Center, and Shoppers Port Shopping Center. Clearly, Northbridge Terrace residents have no shortage of options when it comes to places to spend an afternoon shopping.
The Bon Secours-Saint Francis Hospital is also conveniently located within a short distance southwest of Northbridge Terrace, along Henry Tecklenburg Drive. The Palmetto Low Country Behavioral Health center is situated to the northeast via Highway 7, near the Charleston Naval Complex.
As with many communities in Charleston, Northbridge Terrace is just a short drive from the coastline, which offers plenty of options for outdoor recreation, water sports, and sunbathing. On nice days, the beaches of Charleston regularly attract a large number of area residents and visitors alike.
