North Central is a neighborhood in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, on the Charleston peninsula. This transitional neighborhood has undergone some significant improvements lately, with more renovation projects planned for the future. The latter offers a variety of entertaining and educational exhibits, including a unique albino alligator exhibit. There is also a 4-D theater at the aquarium. The downtown area also features a variety of historic museum homes. These National Landmarks are run by the Charleston Museum and offer beautiful examples of traditional southern architecture and period furnishings.
