The northern border for this teardrop-shaped neighborhood comes to a point as the Bloomfield Bridge crosses over East Busway, which takes over as the eastern line. North Neville Street covers the gap until the southern line takes up with Schenley Road. The western line follows South Bouquet Street before being muddled by the University of Pittsburgh, and comes to completion along Bigelow Boulevard.

The Port Authority operates the bus and light rail services that open up all points of the city from the neighborhood. The parks and campus atmosphere makes bike lanes more popular in this neighborhood than others in the Pittsburgh metro area.
