Kensington is a residential neighborhood of Tulsa. The neighborhood is bordered to the west by the Arkansas River. It is a pedestrian-friendly community with apartments and houses tucked away from the noise of city streets.

The community is near the attractions of downtown Tulsa but without the hustle and bustle of city living. It is close to the schools in the Jenks School District. The district provides the Before and After School Enrichment Programs for students and the Community Education Program for members of the community.

Living next door to the natural scenery of the Arkansas River is a plus for Kensington residents. The river is a popular destination for both residents and tourists and is a favorite outdoor location for exercise enthusiasts. Kensington is close to Tulsa’s River Parks, where 26 miles of asphalt trails weave through the playgrounds, fountains, and sculptures along the river’s banks. The trails are shared by walkers, runners. and cyclists. Fishing, kayaking, and disc golf are some of the outdoor activities available. For hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians, nearby Turkey Mountain provide dirt trails in a heavily wooded area.

Kensington is within walking distance of Oral Roberts University. The 500-acre suburban campus was founded in 1963 by Granville “Oral” Roberts, the television evangelist. This private university attracts students from across the United States and worldwide. The 200-foot glass and steel Prayer Tower has a visitor’s center and an observation deck offering stunning views of the campus. Tours are available.

J. L. Johnson Stadium at the university is home for the champion Golden Eagles. The natural grass baseball field has a 2,418-seat stadium and an architectural style patterned after the feathers of a golden eagle. The stadium was built by Oral Roberts when the university competed in the 1978 NCAA College World Series.
