The neighborhood of Buena Vista Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is bordered on the south by West 21st Street. Its eastern boundary going north from there is formed by the southwest corner of Boulder Park. West 17th Place aligns the northern boundary, with Riverside Drive enclosing this area.

Buena Vista Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Of particular interest here is the architecture of the homes, which include single-family and multi-family residences. Many of these are exceptional representations of architecture developed from 1913 to 1933. Predominant styles are Colonial Revival and Prairie School, with Bungalow/Craftsman and other styles of the era represented to a lesser degree.

One of its most well-known homes is an outstanding example of the Italian Renaissance style of architecture. Built in 1919, the Dresser Mansion was designed by the same architect responsible for New York’s first Waldorf-Astoria hotel, Albert Joseph Bodker. Fine attention to detail still shines today, with this mansion and its furnishings maintained in a nearly original state. The mansion is often reserved for special occasions such as weddings.

Meandering along the banks of the Arkansas River, Buena Vista Park sits next to the River Parks East Trail. It is part of an 11-mile system that has undergone a transformation to make it even better. A three-year project began in 2007 to create a dual trail system, adding asphalt and landscaping, thanks to a $12.4 million private donation from the George Kaiser Family Foundation. Pedestrians and cyclists enjoy the benefits and beauty of these riverside trails.

The nearby facility of the Mental Health Association is located on South Boulder Avenue in Tulsa. The association was the overall winner of the 2010 Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence Awards, otherwise known as the ONE Awards.
