Milbrook is southeast of Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The boundaries for the subdivision are Progress Avenue on the east side, Universal Road on the south, Fairwood Avenue to the east, and Moler Road on the north side.
Milbrook is an older, affordable neighborhood, with the subdivision built in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Milbrook homes have been well cared for over the years. The houses are updated and in good shape. The trees in the neighborhood are mature. The streets have sidewalks with no through streets, which provides a good place for a basketball hoop or bike riding.
City Parks and recreational areas aren’t far from Milbrook. Within walking distance of the entire neighborhood is Milbrook Park, with a playground, a turf field, and room to run. Three blocks from Milbrook is the Fairwood Park and Swimming Pool, with a walking path through a wooded green belt and the Fairwood Pool, offering youth programs to keep kids busy through the summer break. The Alum Creek Multi Use Trail runs just east of the Milbrook neighborhood and is a 12 mile paved trail through city and forest for biking, jogging, and walking.
Sports fans have a choice of seasons and teams to root for in Columbus. The Columbus Clippers are the triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians and play their home games in the unique Huntington Park in Downtown Columbus. Just up the street from there, the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL play their home games in Nationwide Arena. The noise heard on fall football Saturdays comes from the 100,000 plus Ohio State University football fans in the Horseshoe stadium, watching the Buckeyes play some of the biggest games in college football.
