Eastmoor Neighborhood

Columbus, Ohio’s Eastmoor neighborhood offers an eclectic mix of home styles and values. The Eastmoor Civic Association and Blockwatch sets the tone for the community. Their standards committee encourages upkeep, beautification and recycling.

In 2011 Eastmoor residents began Why Trees Matter. The Ohio State University Urban Forestry program teaches methods of building and enhancing green spaces.

For picnics and other outdoor events, Eastmoor residents gather at the Oval, a large green space in the center of South Virginia Lee Road. Napoleon Park on Napoleon Avenue is another neighborhood green space with shade trees and open areas for soccer.

Barnett Park and Recreation Center on Barnett Road has nearly six acres with shade trees, a ball field, playground and other features. The recreation center has fun programs and a “Sprayground” water play area.

Liv Moor Pool on nearby East Deshler Avenue is a local public pool with swimming and water activities. For Golfers its a short drive to Columbus Country Club on East Broad Street.

For an evening out, Top Steak House on East Main Street is a locally owned restaurant favorite. Eastmoor also has a number of fast food options from Gyros to Skyline (Cincinnati style) Chili.

Drexel East Theater on East Main Street in nearby Bexley has three screens of art cinema and independent films.

Spectator sports fans have two Eastmoor destinations. Nearby Capitol University on East Main Street in Bexley offers easy access to football, basketball and other college sports. Watch high school football at the Archie Griffin Stadium/Field at Eastmoor Academy. The stadium was named in honor of the Heisman trophy winner and former Eastmoor student.

Capitol University’s Main Street campus has more than great sports teams. The private Lutheran school has five colleges with a number of academic programs.

Central Ohio Transit Authority provides bus transportation to the area via Local #1.
