Governours Square Neighborhood

Governours Square is a neighborhood less than 10 minutes northwest of downtown Columbus. The community is situated immediately south of West Henderson Road and roughly one mile west of State Highway 315. Interstate 71 runs roughly north/south farther to the east. Governours Square is in the 43220 ZIP code, within Franklin County.

The Governours Square community is just a few miles north of campus of The Ohio State University, one of the most significant public universities in the state. The Ohio State University Airport can be found to the north of the neighborhood, and the Ohio State University Golf Course is situated directly to the south.

A long chain of mostly undeveloped parkland is situated within a mile east of the Governours Square neighborhood, along Highway 315. A handful of neighborhood parks are within a two-mile radius of the community. These parks might be rather small, but they offer a variety of amenities. For example, nearby Lane Road Park has four soccer/football fields, four baseball/softball fields, four tennis courts, and a playground area. Ample parking is available around the park. Other small parks in the area include Northwest Park, Northcrest Park, and Langston Park.

For local shopping, Governours Square residents enjoy easy access to several area shopping centers. Kenny Centre Shopping Center is extremely close to home along Kenny Road and has a grocery store. A trio of retail centers are a half mile to the west of the neighborhood, along West Henderson Road. Slightly farther north, along Bethel Road, are four additional shopping centers. Thanks to all these options, Governours Square residents never have to travel far for their shopping, dining, and entertainment needs.

Another attraction of the Governours Square neighborhood is the Riverside Methodist Hospital, about a mile and a half to the southeast, near the university campus. Easy access to a prominent area medical facility is a big plus for many area residents.
