Edgewood Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The Edgewood neighborhood of Columbus is a classic Midwestern, working-class area. Affordable housing is plentiful, which has started to make the area more desirable to young families and single people who are interested in starter homes. These newer residents are joining existing families who have lived in Edgewood for decades or even generations.
Edgewood is located just east of Lincoln Park, in the southeastern portion of central Columbus. Its boundaries are Frebis Avenue on the north, Marion Road on the south, Lockbourne Road on the east, and Champion Avenue on the west. It is part of the 43206 and 43207 ZIP codes. Roughly 2,300 people live within the boundaries of the Edgewood community.
The area has a rural feel, with many houses sitting on large, wooded lots. The neighborhood has plenty of oak and pine trees along with open lots with green grass.
Residents can easily walk in the area or take advantage of public transit. There are four bus stops in Edgewood. Several fast food restaurants are within the neighborhood, along with a branch of the United States Post Office and several banks. In addition, the Southmoor Middle School is within walking distance of most residences.
