Deshler Park is east of Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The boundaries are Frebis Avenue on the south, Lockbourne Road on the west, East Whittier Avenue on the north, and Alum Creek Drive on the east. Deshler Park is an older neighborhood with affordable housing. Many homes are being renovated and there is new life in the old neighborhood.

The Deshler Park area benefits from several community resources and services available to its residents. The neighborhood has several baseball and turf fields as well as playground areas and a place to walk or have picnics. Fairwood Park and Pool has a public pool within easy walk of the entire neighborhood, playgrounds, and a walking path through mature trees and green space. Deshler Park is close to several of the main routes for the bus system and residents can travel anywhere in the city on public transportation.

Columbus is home to many institutions of higher education and Deshler Park rentals benefit from its location. DeVry University is minutes from Deshler Park and offers technical and business degrees. Capital University has one of the premier law schools in the country and is a four-year private university. Ohio State University is just north of downtown, ten minutes from Deshler Park, and is one of the largest public universities in the country.

They play sports in every season in Columbus. The Columbus Crew Soccer Club has been playing in Major League Soccer since the league was founded more than ten years ago. The National Hockey League is represented by the Columbus Blue Jackets who play their games downtown at Nationwide Arena. Deshler Park is in the shadow of the Horseshoe, Ohio State University’s stadium for the football Buckeyes, which seats over 100,000 for some of the biggest games in college football.
