North College Park Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
North College Park is a small subdivision that was built in the late 1990s, and consists of more than 120 single-family homes of varying architectural styles. The community is located along Highway 401N-Louisburg Road, just a few miles away from Highway 540 and the north campus of Wake Community College. The neighborhood is governed by a Homeowners Association board of directors, which has created a number of community building measures including a neighborhood watch program and a Gardening Club. An activities committee works to provide residents with social opportunities by hosting various events such as a community block party, a National Night Out, and a number of neighborhood yard sales.
If the community activities aren’t enough to keep residents active, a visit to Blue Jay Point County Park should do the trick. Set just seven miles from the North College Park neighborhoods, this 230-acre park offers more than three acres of open play green area, along with five miles of walking and hiking trails, many of which connect to other hiking areas. Families with children will find a pair of age-appropriate playgrounds for both toddlers and older children, and walkers and joggers have numerous paths and trails. A shorter paved loop is also available for new moms with strollers. There are a number of shaded picnic areas throughout the park that offer benches, tables and grills, and properly licensed guests can try their hand at fishing at a number of places along the riverbanks.
Along with the outdoor attractions, Blue Jay County Park also offers an exhibit hall where visitors can learn more about a number of environmental topics, including the importance of water to both the city’s residents and the plants and animals living in the Neuse River area, and what citizens can do to help protect and preserve the environment.
