The Anderson Heights subdivision is a large neighborhood that encompasses all of Anderson Drive from Glenwood Avenue to Six Forks Road. This elite section of Raleigh is well established, luxurious, and beautiful.

Large traditional homes with two and three stories garnish the graceful, manicured lawns. Decorative trees, trimmed and shaped bushes, and statuary can be found adorning pleasant lots. Sprawling areas of grass are landscaped with magnolia trees, towering oak trees, spruce, and pines. A few dwellings within this community are unique, like Cape Cod-style cottages, or small versions of a southern plantation. Neat, clean, and friendly, this section of town is delectable.

Major shopping districts and well-established, fine-dining restaurants exist in this section of town. Crabtree Valley Mall offers an array of stores, covered parking, and multiple entrances. Cameron Village offers some of the best shopping deals anywhere.

The Carolina Country Club and Golf Resort serves the recreational preferences of local residents. Those frequenting this exclusive, membership-only social establishment enjoy golf, tennis, swimming, and tasty cuisine.

Parts of the historical quarter can be found in this sector. Five Points, a historical site and landmark, displays an old gas station, ancient Hayes Barton Church, and a major five-point thoroughfare. Mordecai Historical Landmark showcases the birthplace of American President Andrew Johnson and other museum-quality artifacts.

Public education is excellent. There are many desirable public elementary schools here, but in addition to public schools, there are first-rate private and parochial schools. Preschools and home child-care facilities are abundant.

Park-laden Anderson Heights is a great neighborhood for dog walkers, hikers, bicyclers, bird watchers, and family activities. There are seven public and neighborhood parks in this locale. Many of these small, community-based recreational areas have benches, playground equipment, and grills.

Centrally located for access to Highway 401 and the Raleigh Beltline, the Anderson Heights neighborhood is appealing for beauty and smooth commutes.
